Research outstanding works

Michèle Wigger presents her research project in task- and context-oriented communications,
that she is conducting on a 2016 ERC Starting Grant.

Wanyu Liu explains her PhD work as well as the method she developed on designing interaction techniques.
Her work, entitled “BIGnav: Bayesian Information Gain for Guiding Multiscale Navigation” was granted by
a Best Paper Award at the 2017 CHI conference (Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems).

Research field highlights

Jean-Luc Danger explains the impact and possible uses of noise in the digital circuits, as he is conducting his research on the securisation of cryptographic circuits. He also mentions the missions of Secure-IC, a Télécom ParisTech spin-off company, that he co-founded in 2010 and which specializes in security for embedded systems and connected objects.

Umut Simsekli is conducting his research on Machine Learning, more specifically on Monte Carlo methods,
coupled matrix and tensor factorization models and their applications on audio modeling and link prediction.
In the video, he gives a basic overview on Machine Learning and some of its popular applications.
